Angelica is a biennial plant, which means it takes two years to complete its biological lifestyle, and is known for its sweetly scented edible stems and roots. The plants themselves have a fluted stem which can reach 2.5 metres tall, and have been cultivated for medicinal purposes since the 10th century.
